Biography

David was born in the Welsh border town of Wrexham and raised in Flintshire. During childhood he became heavily involved in the theatre, both in front of and behind the scenes. He spent many summer holidays at Clwyd Theatr Cymru and at the age of fourteen, appeared in a documentary reconstruction, Damwain yn Abermiwl, broadcast on S4C. After leaving school he joined the local radio station, South Flintshire Radio, and went on to become a newsreader, producer and presenter.

After working for commercial stations including Wrexham FM, Radio Maldwyn and local TV station NWTV, David joined the BBC in 2001 as a presenter on BBC Radio Wales' Saturday Live and Sunday Live. He became a regular reporter for a wide range of Radio Wales programmes and later a branding and promotions producer.

More recently David has freelanced for Radio 1, Radio 4 and several BBC Local Radio stations, and is now a television announcer and director for BBC Wales. He is frequently heard on BBC One Wales, BBC Two Wales and the digital channel, BBC 2W and also directs Wales Today regional news bulletins.

David has recorded voice overs for many BBC radio programmes and recorded material for distribution to visually impaired people. His voice has been used by Sky Television, The Greater London Assembly, British Gas, Stonewall, MBNA Bank and Allience and Leicester.
