About
David Harper is a TV and radio broadcaster. He has over 10 years experience as a presenter, continuity announcer, newsreader and also in programme production.
Born and raised in the Welsh borders he started working on theatre projects as a teenager and, after leaving school, joined the local radio station becoming a presenter, reporter and newsreader.
After a few years spent freelancing for the BBC and commercial stations he joined BBC Cymru Wales full time in 2004.
David is currently one of the main voices of BBC Wales television, often heard announcing on BBC One Wales and BBC Two Wales and occasionally as a newsreader on BBC Radio Wales.
He is also a TV news director, and has directed Wales Today for BBC One Wales and Newyddion for S4C.
His voice has been used by several TV and radio programmes, as well as by commercial organisations including Sky Television, The Greater London Assembly, British Gas, Stonewall, MBNA Bank and Alliance and Leicester.
